482 Visa requirements

If you meet the following requirements then you may be eligible for the SC 482 visa

  • Have an occupation in the relevant skilled occupation list

  • Have a substantive or a bridging visa if you are already in Australia

  • Be nominated by an approved sponsor

  • Currently work in your nominated occupation

  • Have at least a years of work experience in the nominated occupation or in a related field

  • Have a positive skill assessment (if applicable)

  • Have at least 5.0 IELTS

Core Skills stream

  • Occupation must be in Core Skills Occupation List (CSOL)
  • Be paid a salary at or above the Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold (TSMIT), which is at AUD 73,150
  • Trades workers, machinery operators and drivers, and laborers will be eligible provided these occupations are present in the Core Skills Occupation List.

Specialist Skills stream

  • Occupation must be in the general skilled occupation list.
  • Be paid a salary at or above the  Specialist Skills Income Threshold (SSIT), which is at AUD 135,000.
  • Trades workers, machinery operators and drivers, and laborers will NOT be eligible, even if it is present in the general skilled occupation list.
